Holliers Farm, Branstone, PO36 0LT
Holliers Park and House of Chilli, based in the picturesque Arreton Valley, is an exciting new venture merging arts and crafts with local food offerings.
The main shop has been reinvented from an agricultural polytunnel, though you’d never guess. Stocking an abundance of Isle of Wight food and drink from the largest right down to the smallest of Island producers. Expect to find ales from Goddards, Isle of Wight Honey from Binfield, Fruitbowl jams from Newchurch, not forgetting many items from the famous Garlic Farm and The Tomato Stall! Just a short list of all the products you can expect to find.
If it’s a gift that you are after, then look no further than the luxury hampers on offer. Starting from just £20, hampers are carefully prepared to give you a true taste of the Island. Catering to all palates, whether it’s cakes and chocolates or cheese and wine, there’s a hamper to suit all. Create your own bespoke hamper from the wide range of items stocked on site.
Holliers Park boasts a unique cafe – a retro refurbished bright yellow double decker bus to be precise! Victory Tea Rooms are open Wednesday – Sunday and offer a delectable range of tea, cake and light lunches. Marilyn and Shirley dress the part to serve you in china cups and all the food is homemade, using local produce wherever possible.
One of the most unique (and hottest) elements of Holliers Park is House of Chilli. As the name suggests, chilli is king and hot and spicy is the order of the day. Expect to find some unusual products from the Ghost Chilli Peanut Butter (great in a chicken satay) to the gourmet range of balsamic dressings made in collaboration with Wild Island. Drizzle over salads for an extra warming kick.
You don’t have to be into the hot stuff to enjoy the taste of chilli, as much of the range features very mild spice such as Spiced Chilli Jam, a lightly spiced fruit jam. But for the die hard hot heads, try the Psycho Juice 70% Scorpion Pepper – probably the hottest natural heat sauce you will taste! When you have finished crying, heal your tastebuds with an ice cream or thickshake, on hand for those emergency cool downs!
Holliers Park is open seven days a week Monday to Saturday 10am – 6pm and Sunday 10am – 4pm
