The Seaview Hotel has launched their ‘Sustainable Seaview’ initiative with electric bicycles available to hire, as well as charging stations. A cheaper and decidedly greener way of exploring the Island, the bikes can be a fun part of a break on the Isle of Wight.
If you are trying to keep up your exercise regime the bikes offer a great work out (especially if you venture to Ventnor or Freshwater with a good hill route) or, if it is relaxation and coasting that appeals more, then simply switch on the power-assist!
The Electric Bike project is in partnership with the Isle of Wight Council and the Green Commute Initiative. The plan to encourage car-free tourism in 2018 as well as making the ebikes available to guests and Islanders over the next year. This overall aim is to promote sustainable transport alternatives for a cleaner, greener tomorrow.
To promote the initiative The Seaview hotel is offering a two-night stay, which includes Wightlink FastCat from Portsmouth to Ryde, transfer from Ryde to Seaview, full English breakfast every morning and daily use of ebikes from £139 per person based on two sharing a standard room.
