It is that time of year already. It seems like Christmas was only five minutes ago and we are already well on the way to Spring and Easter. With the school holidays just around the corner, we have rounded up the best activities to get involved in this Easter time…
Take part in Robin Hill’s Mad Easter Egg Dash. Back by popular demand, the dash will be on Easter Sunday and Monday (1st and 2nd of April) and promises huge fun for all the family. The Easter bunny will be out hiding tokens around the park with the help of his Squawk bird friends, for the children to find in two dashes each day. Little ones will be invited to join in the fun at 12pm, and the over six-year olds can come and have their turn to hunt for tokens and win their prizes at 2pm.
Over at Blackgang Chine become an explorer and see the park through new eyes! Go on a journey of discovery as you start the season with an adventure this Easter Holidays. Join the quest to find out how Dodo’s arrived at Blackgang Chine, every Tuesday and Wednesday during the Easter Holidays. Plus, don’t miss your chance to meet our very special new characters who will be joining us at every event throughout the year to celebrate the 175th Birthday.
The Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt in association with the National Trust means you can explore some of the most beautiful locations and landmarks on the Island, whilst enjoying a tasty chocolate egg! Hunt around Bembridge Windmill, The Needles Old Battery, Newtown Nature Reserve and Mottistone Gardens.
The Isle of Wight Steam Railway has loads going on. The Island’s popular children’s entertainer, Greg Chapman, will amuse the kids with his stories, juggling and other antics, plus there’s colouring, crafts and our ‘Look for the Golden Duck’ Treasure Hunt. For crafty youngsters, children can bring their Easter bonnets and join in our Easter Bonnet Parade each day at 1.15pm.
And for the grown ups, Tapnell Farm is running its annual Easter Tap ‘N’ Ale on the 1st April 7pm – 1am. With live music from band The Hanging Baskets, it’s guaranteed to be another sell-out event, so buy your tickets early to avoid disappointment. After the success of last Easter’s debut run, the Silent Disco returns! Our residents, the Galactic DJs will be back to battle it out across two channels with a “silent rave” soundtrack from 11pm. With two channels to choose from, and everything from classic hiphop, breaks, dance, rock, pop, and straight up bangers on the playlist, there will always be something for you.
