Isle of Wight Literary Festival

Established in 2012, the Isle of Wight Literary Festival is a great destination not only for book lovers of all ages but also for those who enjoy uplifting political and social debates or inspiring and creative workshops. Northwood House, an iconic landmark Grade II * listed manor house in over 20 acres of parkland and overlooking the sea in the heart of Cowes, provides a perfect backdrop to the Literary Festival.
Names announced for this year’s Literary Festival, Thursday 12th October – Sunday 15th October, include Andrew Marr, author, distinguished print and television political journalist and presenter of The Andrew Marr Show on BBC 1 and Start the Week on BBC Radio 4, Val McDermid, Scotland’s Queen of the psychological thriller, Dame Jenni Murray, the doyenne of the renowned and long-running BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour since 1987, Jim Al-Khalili, Professor of Physics, author and Presenter of The Life Scientific on BBC Radio 4, and Xiaolu Guo, Granta Best Young British Novelist and Orange Prize short-listed author of I Am China.
