You might be forgiven for thinking that the Isle of Wight shuts up shop as the last of the summer holidaymakers waves goodbye as they head back to the mainland in time for a new term. But actually, September is a great time to pay us a visit and here’s why…
Less busy! The hustle and bustle of the main season has gone, but there are still people milling about everything is still very much open. Enjoy trips around our attractions, with less queues and getting from one side of the Island to the other is a breeze with less traffic about.
The weather – lets face it, who can remember the last time that August did what it says on the tin and the sun shone for more than a week? September is fast becoming the better month where you can enjoy a day at the beach, a picnic in the park and brave sitting outside and enjoying some al-fresco dining.
The beaches are less busy, still bloomin’ beautiful and actually, the sea is at its warmest thanks to the sun shining on it since June.
There are still lots of things to do and tonnes of events on. Take your pick from brand new family-festival Eklectica at Robin Hill; the International Classic Car Show; Diwali celebrations and The Sweetcorn Fayre, plus many more.
You can normally grab yourself a bargain too with many of the accommodation rates being lower for this time of the year.
So there you have it, yet more reasons to visit the beautiful Island (as if you needed anymore!)
