Isle of Wight Arts brings Open Studios to the Island from Friday 14th to Monday 24th July offering the perfect chance to see some of the Island’s talented and creative artists in their own studio or space.
Visitors have the opportunity to meet local artists, see their work and find out more about the techniques they use and the passions which inspire them. Open Studios is a free event and offers you a warm welcome to view and purchase a great range of unique work including painting, sculpture, print-making, photography, textiles, jewellery and ceramics. Open studios are as varied as you can imagine: in an artist’s home, work room or garden, in purpose made studios, some in public venues. The beauty of visiting several studios is that each is unique, with its own charm – you’re sure to have a warm welcome and to come away feeling inspired. Most venues will be open from 10am to 5pm each day
The Island has a thriving art scene, much of which is inspired by the beautiful land and sea around us. Over 120 artists take part in this event, drawing locals and visitors to all parts of the Isle of Wight. As well as the individual artists, there is also an exhibition of work at the Quay Arts Centre from the 8th – 24th July.
Make sure you go armed with cash or a chequebook as it is quite likely you will find something you fancy in many price ranges, but be aware that many individual artists are unable to accept card payments.
