Always up for a celebration, it is no wonder that the Island has many Bonfire and Fireworks displays this coming weekend. Here we have rounded up some of the best displays to get your firework fix.
Kicking off the weekend is Bembridge Fireworks Night held in Steyne Park from 6.30-8.30pm. There will be stalls, live music and food and drink. Entry is free but a donation would be greatly received, going to Bembridge Youth and Community Centre.
Yarmouth is one of the Island’s most famous firework displays. This years “Guy Fawkes in the Square” takes place from 6.30pm on Saturday 5th November. With hog roast, mulled wine, toffee apples, a torch light parade and even the chance to watch the firework display from the water on board a kayak! For more information, visit yarmouthcarnival.org.uk
The Rotary Club of Ryde are putting on a firework extravaganza at Smallbrook Stadium with gates opening from 6pm on Saturday 5th. There will be a BBQ and bar on site, plus plenty of parking.
IW Radio in association with Newport Parish Council are hosting their annual Spooks and Sparks in Victoria Recreation Ground, Newport. The fun starts from 4.45pm with a spectacular firework display, fancy dress (and prizes for best costumes), live music from Isle of Wight Radio, a magic show from Huxley, face painting, balloon modelling from B&J’s Magical Entertainments, games and delicious food! Over in Ventnor on Saturday, The Spyglass Inn will be putting on their legendary display as well as offering a BBQ. There will be live music and food served in the pub until 9.30pm. Keep an eye on their facebook page for any changes.
