The last local music festival of the summer, the sun set on Eklectica last night and what was widely regarded as one of the best events of the season.
The family-friendly festival saw acts such as The Fratellis, Scouting for Girls, The Hoosiers, Tinchy Stryder and Pixie Lott mixed with some of the best in Island talent including Lucid, Vote Pedro and Platform One. Robin Hill itself was transformed into a magical, colourful jungle, with different areas for different vibes. Kids loved having a go on the giant slip and slide and on the traditional fairground rides. Health conscious folks or those in search of a hangover cure, got their downward dog on at yoga classes whilst the non-stop ravers enjoyed the sounds at the Neon Jungle.
It might be the last of the festival season, but the Isle of Wight event season certainly show’s no sign of quietening down.
Next up is The Sweetcorn Fayre 29-3o September, Isle of Wight Literary Festival 11-14 October, Beer & Buses 13-14 October, Wicked Nights at Blackgang 20 October – 3 November and Island Con 20-21 October.
