There is loads to look forward to in 2019 and none so much as our vibrant events calendar. 2019 is bursting at the seams with things to do and see, you will be spoilt for choice. Have a look at our guide to some of the highlights events and make sure you don’t miss out:
Isle of Wight Festival, 13-16 June
Last year saw the festival celebrate its 50th year. 2019 brings it back for another fun-filled, family-friendly weekend. Over the last 50 years, acts have included legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Fleetwood Mac, Sir Paul Macartney, The Rolling Stones and David Bowie – plus tonnes more. Currently, the 2019 lineup is yet to be released but we did hear a rumour of Abba!
Rhythmtree Festival, 12-14 July
Dubbed as the most original, family orientated festival on the Island, Rhythmtree returns for its tenth year. The festival has gained a reputation for bringing a diverse range of music together for the whole family to enjoy. Free camping and car parking are included in the weekend ticket.
Ventnor Fringe Festival, 23-28 July
Now in its tenth year, the Fringe is a multi-award winning arts festival which takes over the seaside town of Ventnor. Visitors can enjoy pop up cinemas, pianos in the streets, live music in locals’ houses and mystery tours, to name but a few.
Great Wonderfest, 1-4 August
Brand new for 2019, kids TV legends Dick and Dom will be hosting their own festival in August. The Great Wonderfest promises to combine entertainment, pop acts, comedy and more. The events last four days but camping can be extended for those who wish to make more of a trip to the Island.
Lendy Cowes Week, 10-17 August
Since 1826, Cowes Week has played a key part in the British sporting calendar and is one of the UK’s most successful events. You will find up to 40 races daily, over 1000 boats and plenty of entertainment both on and off the water.
Beer & Buses Weekend, 12-13 October
The eagerly awaited annual Beer & Buses weekend returns again this October. Expect well over 100 vintage vehicles, speciality beers at the pubs and a great atmosphere all weekend long.
