The mecca of the sailing world, Cowes has something to offer visitors all year round. Home to Lendy Cowes Week, the world’s oldest and largest sailing regatta, there is plenty of action to get involved in both on and off the water.
The town itself boasts many boutique shops and independent eateries to try, as well as plenty of holiday accommodation from self-catering cottages to larger hotels along the seafront. Cowes get even more lively after dark, particularly through the summer months when there are seemingly endless regattas and events taking place both down on the mariner and up at Northwood House. Many of the pubs have live music on over the weekends and during the week in the busier months.
- A walk along from Cowes along the Esplanade to neighbouring Gurnard. Time it right and you will see one of the best sunsets on the Island.
- A night of dancing to live music in the back room of The Anchor
- Celebrity-spotting during Cowes Week – Richard Branson, Denise Van Outen & the occasional member of the Royal Family have been spotted before.
