One of the most popular festivals of the summer months, Rhythmtree has today announced more acts set to play this July.
Friday night at Rhythmtree traditionally has a celebratory party feel and this year the excitement will be racked up a few extra notches. Alabama 3, the group named as “the best live band in the UK” by The Guardian, will be bringing their irrepressible mix of rock, dance, blues, country and gospel to our mainstage on Friday evening. With their huge crowd-pleasing hits like The Soprano’s theme tune “Woke Up This Morning” and the dance classic “Ain’t going to Goa” they’ll be jump-starting a very special evening, followed by ambient dance masters The Orb who’ll be bringing a full visual show and the Island’s own favourites 77:78 who’ll close the live programme on the ever popular Didg Cafe stage.
Sunday evening at Rhythmtree is set to be one big sing along as in addition to The Zombies, the main stage will finish with a crackling set from Liverpudlian Brit-pop favourites Cast with a long list of familiar top twenty hits peppering their sets including “Walkaway”, “Guiding Star”, “Alright” and “Flying”.
There will be two new entertainment areas this year featuring cabaret, comedy, DJ’s and Spoken Word. With over 130 performances across the site throughout the weekend, Rhythmtree goes from strength to strength and is regarded as the Island’s top family-friendly weekend.
Kids under 12, camping and car parking at Rhythmtree are free and access to the site is quick and direct from Yarmouth Road. Tickets available online rhythmtree.co.uk or at Caffe Isola, 85a St James Street, Newport PO30 1LG
