They were one of the biggest boy-bands of the 1990’s, released five studio albums and sold over 18 million records worldwide. Back in the day they provided a shot in the arm for British pop as they blended both rap and pop to create something genuinely fresh and exciting.
Kings of Cool, East 17 will taking to the stage at Jack Up The Summer on Sunday 11th August as the event broadens its appeal to incorporate a day of 90s music.
Organisers said; “90s fans have been crying out for a day like this, there’s never been a 90s festival on the Isle of Wight before and we’ve secured some great names. First act off of the starting blocks is East 17. With a raft of anthems like ‘House of Love’, ‘It’s Alright’, ‘Steam’, ‘Let It Rain’, ‘Deep’ and of course ‘Stay Another Day’ this promises to be the singalong moment of the weekend. The Jack Up team saw them perform live in London last year and they took the crowd by storm.”
Formally Jack Up The 80s, this hugely popular event continues to deliver on its retro promise by celebrating the upbeat, hand-clapping music of yesteryear, centred around party hits and feel-good music from both the 80s and 90s.
The event takes place at its new location, North Fairlee Farm just outside of Newport.
Early Bird Weekend and Day tickets go on sale on Monday 28 January and will be available online at jackupthesummer.co.uk as well as over the counter at Island outlets including the County Press office in Newport.
The earlier you buy the more you save! Kids aged 12 and under go FREE! This year owing to popular demand organisers will also be releasing a teen ticket for 13-17 year olds sold at half the price of adult tickets.
