Tapnell Farm Park are inviting you to take a stroll into the ‘deep dark wood’ this Autumn, with an appearance from The Gruffalo at their Wild Woodland Weekend on November 10th and 11th.
The Gruffalo, the mythical monster who stars in Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s popular children’s books, will be appearing at intervals throughout the weekend, with a whole host of other woodland-related special guests and activities also on show.
Kids can take part in Gruffalo-themed craft activities, listen to story time readings, and enjoy tasty woodland treats in the Farm Park café. Tapnell will also be celebrating some of the other creatures from the deep dark wood, with Owls to meet from Haven Falconry, a snake display, and the Farm Park’s own collection of tiny harvest mice in their new area.
In addition to catching a glimpse of The Gruffalo’s knobbly knees, and turned-out toes, visitors can also enjoy the rest of the park over the weekend, with Tapnell’s amazing new interactive “Bug Shows”, other farm animals on hand to say hello, and all the fun play activities open as normal.
Standard admission prices to Tapnell Farm Park apply for both days, but they are advising anyone wishing to attend to purchase their tickets in advance online to guarantee entry. Online tickets are available to purchase up until midnight the day before a visit and offer a discount on regular gate prices.
This is a FREE event for Tapnell Farm Park Winter Season Passholders, who can renew or purchase their passes up until November 9th and use them to gain entry to the farm.
Tapnell Farm Park is open from 10am til 5pm, with last entry at 4pm.
Dan Selle, Tapnell Farm Park Manager said “We ran a poll with our Season Pass Holders Group to see which character they would like to see at our park, and the overwhelming favourite was The Gruffalo! To make his visit extra special, we will be theming the whole weekend around the Wild Woodland, with lots of fun and educational activities for kids and adults to get involved with.”
